Offered is a very substantial collection of the 1955 Topps All-American series, the last football-card set issued by Topps honoring college football stars. Included is a near-complete set of 84 different cards (out of 100 in the set) plus 71 duplicates. Missing the following sixteen cards for completion: #10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 39, 40, 74, 75, 76, 77, 81, 94, and 100 Henry. Condition is 24% Ex to Ex-Mt (mostly Ex and including a few Nr/Mt), 62% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 14% lesser (including one altered). Five cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: Two #1 Hickman (Gd+ and Fr), 6 Kinnick RC (small pen marks on the reverse, otherwise Ex), three 12 Graham (EX+ 5.5 and two Ex), two 16 Rockne (Vg-Ex+ and 0/100 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt-Mt), 20 Baugh (Vg-Ex+), three 27 Grange (Vg-Ex, Vg, and color added, otherwise Ex), 37 Thorpe (Pr-Fr due to small pieces of tape residue on reverse), 51 (NM+ 7.5), five 56 Nevers (two Ex, Vg-Ex, Gd, and Pr-Fr due to tape remnants on the reverse), 68 Four Horsemen (EX 5), 83 (NM 7), 85 Luckman (Vg-Ex), 86 (NM 7), three 97 Hutson RC (Vg-Ex+, Vg, and next card showing, otherwise Nr/Mt+), and two 98 Feathers (both Vg-Ex). A very attractive and mostly mid-grade collection of 1955 Topps All-American football, loaded with great stars and Hall of Famers. Total: 155 cards (near set of 84 plus 71 duplicates).
