Description

Complete, original unopened wax box of 1971 Topps baseball. The box houses 24 packs with each pack containing 10 cards for a total of 240 cards. This is a first-series box (#1-132), a series that is highlighted by Hall of Famers Reggie Jackson, Jim Hunter, Bert Blyleven (rookie), Willie McCovey, Ted Simmons (rookie), and Steve Carlton, as well as New York Yankees legendary star Thurman Munson and all-time hit leader Pete Rose. This is the first unopened wax box from this series that we have offered in the past 22 years! This is a particularly significant year for an unopened wax box, as cards from 1971 Topps baseball are naturally very difficult to find in high grade due to their easily damaged black-border design. The box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). The display box has survived with bold colors and light shelf wear visible. This is an extremely rare unopened wax box that would make a superb addition to any baseball or unopened wax-box collection.
