Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Condition-sensitive #1 card featuring New York Yankees Hall of Fame pitcher Whitey Ford from the popular 1951 Bowman issue. Besides being the No. 1 card in the set, this card also represents Ford's rookie card. The offered card exhibits bold colors, a crisp image, and light corner wear. Boldly printed reverse. Being the No. 1 card in the set, it is a true condition rarity. This card naturally gravitated to the top of the stack, usually exposing it to extra wear and handling, making high-grade examples far more difficult to find than most other 1951 Bowmans and other Ford cards. This is an attractive example of Ford's most sought-after card.
