Lot # 2046: 1933 Uncle Jacks Candy Unopened Wax Pack PSA NM 7 - Joe Cronin on Top - Highest Graded!

Graded NM 7 by PSA. This is the only example graded at this level by PSA with none higher! Uncle Jacks are one of the rarer and lesser-known candy issues of the early 1930s. Like Goudey and National Chicle, Uncle Jacks was based in New England. The company issued only one thirty-card set. Each blank-backed card in the set was issued in red or blue duotone. Cards were sold in a see-through wax-paper pack with one card and a coupon per pack. The coupon featured advertising for Uncle Jacks and information about a contest to attend the 1933 World Series. About thirty years ago an unopened box of Uncle Jacks surfaced in the hobby. Every once in a while, an unopened pack turns up. All are from this single legendary find! (In fact, this find is responsible for these cards being identified with certainty by collectors as being issued by Uncle Jacks, as the cards themselves have no advertising.) Presented is one of these unopened packs, saved in its original unopened state, featuring Hall of Famer Joe Cronin on top. The pack includes the original gum and coupon. The coupon with detailed information about the contest and advertising for Uncle Jacks can easily be viewed from the reverse. The gum gives the pack a firmness (and thickness) much greater than that of a single card, contest coupon, and wrapper, but there is only one card per pack. An outstanding and rarely seen pack from one of the 1930s' rarest candy-card sets.
