Presented is an early 1940s gum-card series issued by Goudey, which features different fighter planes used by countries involved in the war efforts. The 24-card set is one of the last of all Goudey sets, and one of the most striking, exciting, and colorful bubble-gum card sets of the era. Six cards (#2, 3, 4, 6, 11, and 12) included in this set display tan backs, indicating they are from the very similar Canadian "Sky Birds" series, issued by World Wide Gum Company. Condition of the set is two Ex, three Vg, eight Gd (including a few due to miscut centering), and eleven Pr to Fr (including one trimmed). The original wrapper grades Good. Total: 24 cards (plus wrapper). The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
