Spalding baseball signed in black ink by Bob Hendley across a side panel. The inscription "Bob Hendley/Cubs/1965" is penned along an adjacent panel. Hendley is best known for throwing a complete one-hitter against the Dodgers on September 9, 1965, only to be outpitched by Sandy Koufax, who threw a perfect game. Today, the game is remembered as one of the great pitcher duels in Major League history. Hendley would get his revenge a few days later, however, outdueling Koufax to the tune of a 2-1 Chicago victory. This is a tough-to-find signature! The ball displays moderate toning throughout and is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Basic certification from James Spence/JSA (a corresponding sticker is affixed to the ball).
