Description

Scarce Mickey Mantle Country Cookin' promotional photo card ("postcard - kneeling" variety) dating from 1968-1970. Mickey Mantle's Country Cookin' restaurant operated in Texas and a few other Southern states during the late 1960s and early 1970s. PSA has encapsulated the piece as "Authentic - Altered" largely due to it being laminated on the front. The card (7 x 4 inches), which has been addressed and mailed on the reverse, displays a heavy vertical crease extending down the center. This is one of two different promotional photo cards featuring Mantle promoting his Country Cookin' restaurant (the other variety pictures him batting). This is an extremely scarce and unusual Mantle collectible, integral to the completion of any Mantle card master set. One of only nine examples (kneeling variety) in total evaluated by PSA to date.
