Offered is a circa 1910 Sweet Caporal and Piedmont Cigarette empty pack pair. 1) Sweet Caporal ten-count pack (Kinney Bros.). The tax stamp has an overprint date of "July 31, 1911." 1-5/8 x 2-7/8 x 5/8 inches. Fair condition overall, with the notations "Buttons" and "Cubs" written in black ink on the front panel. 2) Piedmont ten-count pack (Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co.). The tax stamp features a faded overprint date. The fact that this pack is a "Liggett & Myers" pack supports that the pack was produced after 1911. (1911 was the year of the breakup of the American Tobacco Company into several smaller companies, including Liggett & Myers.) 1-5/8 x 2-7/8 x 5/8 inches. Fair condition overall with stray pencil marks along the front panel. Total: 2 packs. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
