Lot # 2887: 1962 Post Cereal "Raisin Bran" Complete Box with Norm Cash

Offered here is an outstanding complete box of Post Raisin Bran featuring five package design cards (#14b Cash/throws left, 74 Bilko, 115 S. Williams, 157 Spangler, and 191 Kindall) on the back panel, with Roger Maris pictured in an advertisement on the front of the box. In 1962, if you were walking down the supermarket aisle in the cereal section, you would have seen unopened boxes of cereal heralding "Free Baseball Trading Cards" on front, each with a number of cards on the back. The preservation of this box is most improbable. The box (7 x 1-3/4 x 9-1/2 inches) is in overall Gd-Vg condition, but does exhibit moderate shelf wear and several moderate creases on the reverse, which has impacted the Kindall, Spangler, and Williams cards. This 64-year-old year old box presents very attractively when displayed and viewed in person. Post Cereal boxes are rarely seen in their original form. This is an extremely impressive collectible that would be at home in any advanced Post Cereal or advertising collection.
