Circa 1933 Joe DiMaggio Original Acme Newspictures Photograph PSA/DNA Type I - Image Used for 1935 Pebble Beach Clothiers Postcard!

Exceptionally rare and visually stunning original photograph of New York Yankees Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio. In this photograph, DiMaggio is captured as a member of the Pacific Coast League San Francisco Seals prior to his Major League career. Notably, this is the exact image used to create DiMaggio's extremely rare 1935 Pebble Beach Clothiers Postcard. In 1935 Pebble Beach Clothiers issued a postcard series featuring a small number of players from each of the three Bay-area Pacific Coast League clubs: the Oakland Oaks, Mission Reds, and San Francisco Seals. What made the postcards unique is that all were issued with authentic autographs of the players on the front. As such, the postcards probably represent the earliest autographed-card issue. The cards were issued by the company as redemption prizes, with one card issued in exchange for a band from a Pebble Beach necktie. Joe DiMaggio is the key card from this elusive series. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. This is one of only two examples of this original photograph that we have ever seen, and it is the superior of the two in our opinion.
