Description

Scarce St. Louis Browns National League scorecard issued for a game against the Louisville Colonels in 1896. The preprinted lineups include Hall of Famer Roger Connor, as well as Dowd, Cross, and Donahue for St. Louis and Hall of Famer Fred Clarke, in addition to Crooks and McCreery for Louisville. Neatly scored in pencil to record a 6-3 St. Louis win. Research indicates that this could have either taken place at New Sportsman Park in St. Louis on either April 26th or July 27th. The Browns would later be known as the Perfectos and then, the Cardinals as they're known today. The twenty-two page scorecard (5 x 7 inches) displays a full separation of the spine and is comprised entirely of loose pages. There is pencil writing on the front cover, mild staining, a few areas of paper loss, several tears, and minor creasing. In Poor condition overall.
