Description

Outstanding original uncut strip of ten cards from the 1923 W515-1 strip-card set, highlighted by three Hall of Famers, including Casey Stengel and Tris Speaker. The popular W515-1 strip-card set consists of sixty different Major Leaguers. This issue was originally sold in horizontal strips of ten (as offered here), which were intended to be cut apart by hand by youngsters. Surviving, as-issued uncut strips are extremely rare! This uncut strip is all the more remarkable as it includes #24 Stengel and #28 Speaker. The balance of the players featured are #21 Meusel Brothers, 22 Nehf, 23 Meadows, 25 Scott, 26 Williams, 27 Bush, 28 Youngs (misspelled Young, HOF), and 30 Dugan. The panel is bright and clean with vibrant colors and a chipped bottom-right corner along the Dugan card. The important Stengel and Speaker cards remain in excellent condition. This strip, which measures 13.75 by 2.25 inches, offers a superb opportunity to acquire an almost never-seen uncut strip of W515-1s, in its original form as they were issued at the candy store in 1923, highlighted by legendary Hall of Famers Casey Stengel and Tris Speaker.
