Original photo of Washington Senators first baseman Joe Judge, taken by renowned baseball photographer Charles Conlon, used in the production of Judge's 1933 R319 Goudey card. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I Charles Conlon photograph by PSA/DNA. The photo captures Judge at the plate in a swing-through pose. Conlon's credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with his handwritten notation "Joe Judge - Washington," and a number of editorial markings. This photo was originally obtained at the sale of the Baseball Magazine archives at Christie's in 1996 and bears the special hologram label from that sale on the reverse. Photos used in the production of trading cards have become increasingly popular in recent years. This is one of only a small number of vintage photos we have seen featuring a player image attributed to the 1933 R319 Goudey card set. The photo (6.5 x 8.5 inches) displays a number of pinholes along the borders, and is otherwise in Excellent condition overall.
