In 1934 Connie Mack led a group of Major League players on a highly publicized postseason goodwill Tour of Japan. That much-celebrated tour is especially noteworthy as it is the only overseas tour in which both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig participated. Offered here is a sizeable collection of twenty-three original snapshot photos, each signed in either black or blue ink by sixteen members of that celebrated 1934 tour, including Lefty Gomez, Earl Averill, Charlie Gehringer, Lefty O'Doul, Bing Miller, Eric McNair, Rabbit Warstler, two Frank Hayes, three John Quinn (umpire), two Joe Cascarella, two Clint Brown, three Earl Whitehill, Robert Schroeder (Philadelphia A's secretary), Sotaro Suzuki (interpreter), J. A. "Bud" Hillerich (of the Hillerich & Bradsby Company), and Bud Warren (part of the American contingent, undefined role). All of the photos measure 3.25 x 2.25 inches and remain in Excellent condition overall. Total: 23 signed photos. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
