Historic, original news photo of Babe Ruth at the plate after hitting a home run in the first inning of Game 3 of the 1932 World Series. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA. This was the famous game in which Ruth "Called his Shot" in the fifth inning against Cubs pitcher Charlie Root. Many fans forget that Ruth's "Called Shot" was his second home run of the game. His first was a three-run shot in the first inning, also against Root, which scored both Earle Combs and Joe Sewell. An "Associated Press Photo" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the original paper news caption (dated "10-1-32"). An additional credit stamp and date ("Cleveland News - Cleveland, Ohio - Oct 3 1932") are also on the reverse. The photo (8 x 6 inches) has minor rippling and a few light creases.
