Encapsulated and certified as an original Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA. Maris is pictured in full-swing as he connects for his record-breaking 61st home run in the final game of the season at Yankee Stadium. This is the ultimate photo of one of baseball's greatest moments! While many different news photos of this moment exist, the offered never-before-seen photo is exceptional, not simply because it is an original, but because it also captures the flight of the ball, which can be seen in the upper right quadrant of the photo. (Most of the other photos are cropped much tighter and only show Maris.) The original paper news caption, dated 10/1/61, is affixed on the reverse, as is a PSA/DNA certification sticker.
