1961 Roger Maris Record Home Run #61 Original U.P.I. Photograph PSA/DNA Type I

Original news photo capturing Roger Maris at the plate connecting for his record-setting 61st home run on the final day of the 1961 season. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA. Maris is pictured in full swing, immediately after making contact with the ball. A “United Press International” credit stamp appears on the reverse, as does the original paper news caption, dated “10/1/61.” This is an outstanding image of Maris’ historic 61st home run! The photo (8 x 10 inches) displays a few unobtrusive creases (mostly in the corners) and minor rippling. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall.
