Description

Presented is a remarkable, high-grade complete set of "The Waltons" nonsports cards consisting of fifty different cards from this elusive series. “The Waltons” is one of rarest sets of all 1970s Topps test issues. The set was never actually issued to the public, and we believe that all known items related to this series have originated over the years from the Topps Vault. The full-color cards feature the cast members in various scenes from the television show. Each card is professionally graded and encapsulated. Thirty-nine of the cards are the highest-graded examples, including thirty-three cards that are the only example graded at its respective level with none higher. This is a monumental accomplishment resulting in the top overall ranking on the PSA Set Registry with a weighted GPA of 7.47 and a "top pop bonus" GPA of 8.91. PSA Grading Composite: MINT 9 (8 cards): #5, 7, 8, 9, 18, 27, 34, and 35. NM-MT 8 (24 cards): #4, 6, 11, 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30, 31, 36, 37, 40, 41, 44, 45, and 46. NM+ 7.5 (1 card): #39. NM 7 (9 cards): #2, 10, 14, 29, 33, 38, 42, 43, and 50. EX-MT 6 (5 cards): #3, 15, 16, 32 (ST), and 47. EX 5 (1 card): #48. VG-EX 4 (1 card): #49. GOOD 2 (1 card): #1. To date, only 255 cards from this series have been authenticated (in any grade) by PSA. The lowest population card in the set has only three examples graded, meaning that only three complete PSA-graded sets are possible at this time! This is a world-class set of one of the 1970s scarcest test issues! Total: 50 cards. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
