Spectacular original large-format photograph, measuring 21.5 x 17.5 inches, capturing seventeen members of the United States All-American Baseball team posing together during the club's 1931 Tour of Japan post season barnstorming trip. Certified as an original Type 1 photograph by PSA/DNA. Included among the team members, all of whom are wearing their uniforms and team jackets, are Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove, Frankie Frisch, Mickey Cochrane, Al Simmons, George Kelly, and Rabbit Maranville. Also pictured are sportswriter Fred Leib and Herb Hunter, who helped organize the tour, and a number of Japanese dignitaries. Hunter has signed the photo in black ink directly above his image. He added an inscription along the top that reads "National & American League Players - Touring Japan November 1931." The photo displays light creases, chipping along the top and right edges, and toning on the reverse. In Fair to Good condition overall. Two full LOAs from PSA/DNA (autograph and photo).
