Graded VG+ 3.5 by PSA. Beautiful example of New York Giants Hall of Famer John Ward in a horizontal sliding pose (pose #478-8) from the 1888 Old Judge series. Like the portrait and double-player cards in the series, the horizontal cards in the Old Judge set are distinctive and an extremely popular subset in the N172 Old Judge series. The offered example is crisp and clean with strong image quality and light corner wear. The blank reverse displays light toning. One of the more unusual of the ten poses of Ward in the Old Judge set, the offered card would be an outstanding highlight addition to an advanced Hall of Fame or nineteenth-century card collection.
