Rod Carew Louisville Slugger signature-model ("C243") bat dating from the 1980 to 1983 manufacturing period. Graded GU 7 by PSA/DNA. The uncracked bat displays light to moderate use, including a few ball marks, cleat marks, and blue bat rack marks. Additionally, a water stain is visible on the front barrel. A member of baseball’s elite 3,000 Hit Club, Carew was one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. In 1977 he flirted with the magical .400 mark for much of the season before finishing with a league-leading and career-high average of .388. Even age 40 in 1985, he managed to appear in 127 games, finishing the season with a .280 average. He retired with a career .328 average and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1991.
