Description

Dave Winfield Adirondack block-letter (full name) model ("220A") bat dating from the 1973-1979 manufacturing period. Graded GU 8.5 by PSA/DNA. The bat, which displays a repaired handle crack, exhibits evidence of moderate use. There are ball marks (with white leather scuffs), ball-stitch impressions, and tape residue on the handle. Additionally, an impression from a weighted batting donut is visible on the bat. The bat's model number ("220A") is stamped on the knob. Winfield's uniform number ("31") appears on the knob in black marker. A 12-time All-Star, Winfield finished his career with 3,110 hits (23rd on the all-time list), 465 home runs, and 1,833 RBI. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2001. This bat dates exclusively to Winfield's time with the San Diego Padres and may possibly date to his first season in the Majors. Length: 35.5 inches. Weight: 33.6 ounces. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (corresponding sticker affixed to the handle). The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
