1954 Rocky Marciano vs. Ezzard Charles World Heavyweight Championship Original Associated Press Photograph PSA/DNA Type I

Original news photo capturing Rocky Marciano landing a blow to the face of Ezzard Charles during their first heavyweight title fight held at Yankee Stadium on June 17, 1954. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. The reverse displays an "Associated Press" credit stamp and the original paper news caption dated "6/17/54." Marciano suffered a large cut over his eye in this fight, which can be clearly seen in this image. Charles managed to go the distance, but lost a unanimous 15-round decision to the champion Marciano. The photo (7-1/8 x 9 inches) displays a few light creases and is in Excellent condition overall.
