1954 Rocky Marciano vs. Ezzard Charles "Bloody Eye" World Heavyweight Championship Original Associated Press Photograph PSA/DNA Type I

Original news photo capturing Rocky Marciano blocking a punch from Ezzard Charles during their first heavyweight title fight held at Yankee Stadium on June 17, 1954. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. The reverse displays an "Associated Press" credit stamp and the original paper news caption dated "6/18/54." Marciano suffered a large cut over his eye in this fight, which can be clearly seen in this graphic black-and-white image. Charles managed to go the distance, but lost a unanimous 15-round decision to the champion Marciano. The photo (9 x 7-1/8 inches) displays a few light creases and is in Excellent condition overall.
