1954 Rocky Marciano vs. Ezzard Charles "Split Nose" World Heavyweight Championship Second Fight Original United Press Photograph PSA/DNA Type I

Original news photo capturing Rocky Marciano landing a blow to the head of Ezzard Charles during their second heavyweight title fight held at Yankee Stadium on September 17, 1954. Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. The reverse displays an "United Press Association" credit stamp and the original paper news caption dated "9/17/54." Marciano suffered a large cut on his nose in this fight, which can be clearly seen in this image. Furious with the split on his nose, Marciano unleashed a devasting beating on Charles that knocked him to the canvas in the eighth round. The photo (9 x 7-1/8 inches) is in Excellent condition overall.
