Circa 1950s Bill Russell Original Photograph PSA/DNA Type I

Outstanding original photograph of Boston Celtics Hall of Famer Bill Russell dating to circa 1957-1958. This simple, yet striking, image of the legendary center dates from early in his career and likely to his second season with the team. It would be during this season that Russell would win the first of his remarkable five Most Valuable Player awards. Russell is captured in a shooting pose, his height and strength on obvious display. The blank reverse features a pencil-written notation referring to the year, which assists in its dating, as well as the scripted last name "Russell" in pen. The photograph remains in Excellent condition overall. Encapsulated as a Type I by PSA/DNA.
