Recently discovered PC760 Rose Postcard example of Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Bill Abstein. Encapsulates as "Authentic by PSA. This is the ONLY example that has ever been graded by PSA! (Please note two examples of Abstein have been graded by SGC.) This is a very interesting card in the Rose Postcard set, Abstein is one of twelve players that are featured in the set without the team name. Among advanced collectors, Rose Postcards are regarded as one of the most striking and magnificently designed baseball-card sets ever produced. They are also extremely rare. The offered card displays heavy creasing extending across the top portion, moderate corner wear, edge wear, and ink notations on the reverse. The ink notation reads “What do you think of Pittsburgh now? A double header Sunday and won both games. Also won this morning. Hurrah! For Hooray! Here’s hoping they win the pennant. Regards to all. Miller” The card has been postmarked "May 31, 1909." This is an extremely desirable example from one of the era's most classic sets.
