Exceedingly rare lobby card issued for the 1927 First National Picture release Babe Comes Home starring Babe Ruth. This extraordinary rarity is, to the best of our knowledge, one of only two examples known of this particular lobby card. (The other known example is completely restored.) It should be noted that all memorabilia relating to Babe Comes Home is incredibly rare. Ruth is pictured in his movie uniform holding his bat, along with the catcher and umpire in the scene. Babe Comes Home was the second feature film to star the Yankees legendary slugger, and it was released in sound, so for the first time fans could hear the Babe speak on screen. The offered lobby card is one of the finest pieces of Ruth film memorabilia in existence! The lobby card (approximately 14 x 11 inches), which is notable for the fact that it remains in its original state, with no evidence of restoration, displays even corner wear and light soiling front and back, as well a tiny tear on the top edge, a surface abrasion along the bottom edge, and the year "1928" printed in black ink on the reverse. While technically in Fair condition, all of the minor flaws are fairly unobtrusive and do not detract in the least from its overall Very Good to Excellent appearance.
