1946 Buffalo Bisons (vs. Montreal Royals) International League program dating from Jackie Robinson's historic first season in organized baseball. The program (7 x 10.25 inches), which is not scored, lists Robinson batting second and playing second base for the Royals on an alternate team lineup that has been pasted into the program. Despite all of the hardships endured by Robinson during his first season with Montreal, including overt bigotry by both opponents and teammates alike, his performance on the field never wavered. Robinson finished the season with a league-leading .349 average and was named the league MVP at season's end. The program displays light handling wear and is in Excellent condition overall.
