Fold-over scorecard issued for a game between the Chicago Cubs and the Boston Beaneaters. The preprinted lineups include Tinker, Chance, Schulte, and Lundgren (who has been crossed out in pencil with "Brown" written in) for Chicago, and Abbaticchio and Needham for Boston. Neatly scored in pencil to record a 4-3 Boston victory. Research indicates that this was the first game of a doubleheader that took place on May 10, 1905 at Boston's South End Grounds. The front and back covers feature an advertisement for New England's World Fair at Paragon Park. The Chicago cubs finished with a 92-61 record which landed them in third place in 1905, trailing the pennant winning New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Interestingly, the Cubs would go on to win National League pennants in four of the next five seasons, and secure World Series victories in 1907 and 1908 before beginning their infamous 108-year drought. The scorecard (7.5 x 9.75 inches, unfolded) displays moderate handling wear, a few scattered creases, has been taped on both sides of the center-fold, and is missing a piece of paper from the "Boyle Bros." advertisement on the Chicago half of the scorecard. In Fair condition overall.
