Program from the October 16, 1926 football matchup between legendary coach Knute Rockne's Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Penn State Nittany Lions. The game, played at Cartier Field in South Bend, IN, saw Rockne's Fighting Irish win handedly by a score of 28-0. Notre Dame would go on to win all but one of their ten games, suffering an upset shutout loss to Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, PA on November 27th. The following week, in the final match of their season, the Irish would defeat the USC Trojans in their inaugural meeting, which sparked the storied rivalry. The seventy-two page program (7.75 x 10.5 inches) features many scattered moderate creases and light toning on the covers. In Very Good condition overall.
