One-page contract between the William Morris Agency and The Three Stooges: Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Joe DeRita. The Stooges achieved their greatest earning power in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when their early movie shorts were shown continuously on TV. The exposure caused the Stooges to became a part of growing up for millions of new young fans, and launched a second career for the legendary comedy trio, both in movies and for personal appearances. The contract, dated February 21, 1964, appoints the William Morris Agency as the exclusive agent of The Three Stooges for a one-year period beginning on the date of signing. The contract also calls for the Agency to receive a 10% commission rate for its services. The contract has been signed by Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Joe DeRita, as well as by a representative of the agency. The contract (8.5 x 13 inches) displays two horizontal folds, notebook holes along the top, two sets of staple holes in the upper left corner, a crease in the lower portion of the document, and a small tear on the right edge near the bottom.
