Lot # 2219: Signed 1956-1963 Artvue (Type 2) Black-and-White Hall of Fame Postcard Bill McKechnie PSA/DNA GEM MINT 10

Black-and-white (Artvue Type 2) Hall of Fame postcard of Bill McKechnie signed by him in blue ink in the lower margin. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the card and graded the signature GEM MINT 10. Very few black-and-white Hall of Fame postcards of Bill McKechnie were signed by him because the Hall ceased issuing them in 1963, just one year after McKechnie’s induction. McKechnie passed away in 1965, so the window of opportunity to acquire his signature on this card was quite narrow. Both of those circumstances contribute to its significant rarity today. This is just the sixth example we have offered in the past 21 years. The postcard (3.5 x 5.5 inches) has the date "Jan -- '64" stamped on the reverse (likely the date it was signed), but otherwise it remains in Excellent condition overall.
