Lot # 2216: Signed 1956-1963 Artvue (Type 2) Black-and-White Hall of Fame Postcard Al Simmons PSA/DNA NM-MT 8

Black-and-white (Artvue Type 2) Hall of Fame postcard of Al Simmons signed by him in black ink along the base. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the card and graded the signature NM-MT 8. Al Simmons-signed Hall of Fame black-and-white postcards are exceedingly rare. This is only the sixth we have offered in the past 21 years. Their rarity is the result of timing. Simmons was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1953, and died in 1956, thereby giving collectors just a short three-year window in which to acquire his signature on a Hall of Fame postcard. The postcard (3.5 x 5.5 inches), which has been mailed and postmarked, has light corner wear as well as toning on the reverse. In Fair condition overall. An extremely rare and desirable signed postcard worthy of the most advanced collection!
