Pair of black KangaROO game-used cleats worn by Chicago Bears Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton during the 1980s. Each of the cleats (size 8) displays heavy wear in accordance with their game usage. Today, Walter Payton is remembered as one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. The 1977 AP Most Valuable Player and a Five-Time First-Team All-Pro, Payton retired as the NFL's all-time leader in rushing yards (16,726), rushing touchdowns (110), and 1,000-yard rushing seasons (10). He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993. After his passing in 1999, the NFL Man of the Year award was renamed in his honor. Per the NFL, the Walter Payton Man of the Year award "recognizes an NFL player for his excellence on and off the field." Accompanied by an LOA from Scott Ascher, who served as the curator of the Payton Museum from 1996-2010, and a full LOA from MEARS.
