Presented is one of the most fascinating items related to the Post Cereal sets of the 1960s that we can ever recall handling! In 1961, just as today, in addition to standard large cereal boxes, Post also issued variety selections of little single-serving boxes in packs of ten called "Post-Tens." When sold back in the 1960s, the little cereal boxes sat in a cardboard tray. Kids loved the variety of cereals packaged all together, and for those who are old enough to remember, the boxes were designed to be cut open and used as bowls. The little cereal boxes were fun for kids, and they still are. This 1961 Post-Tens tray which provides a platform for ten little unopened boxes of cereal has somehow survived intact with the original plastic wrapping, which itself is a miracle, and features the following three 1961 Post Cereal baseball cards on the bottom: #4 Mickey Mantle, #47 Pete Runnels, and #157 Charlie Neal. The Post Cereal baseball card issues (1961-1963) were primarily available on the backs of the company’s standard cereal boxes (10 cards per box), but as seen here, three cards were also available on the bottom of "Post-Tens" trays. The preservation of this unopened "Post-Tens" pack is most improbable. This is the first example we have ever offered! The "Post-Tens" pack displays extremely well overall, with tight seals and a large tear to the plastic wrapping on two sides. This is an extremely impressive collectible that would be at home in any advanced Post Cereal, Mickey Mantle, or advertising collection.
