Description

Presented is a rare original vending box of 1971-1972 Topps basketball containing approximately 500 cards from this popular series. The 1971-1972 Topps Basketball set is very popular among collectors for its bright colors and funky text, both telltale signs of an early 1970s issue. The set is loaded with stars and Hall of Famers, including Wilt Chamberlain, Lew Alcindor (aka Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), Jerry West, Pete Maravich, Oscar Robertson, and rookie cards of Rick Barry, Dave Cowens, Bob Lanier, Larry Brown, Nate Archibald and Dan Issel. This was also the first year that Topps included cards of ABA (American Basketball Association) players. While no guarantees can be made with respect to the grading of unopened material, there is a very real possibility that within this box are MINT or GEM MINT examples of these cards and others. This box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (Steve Hart), the foremost expert on unopened material. This is an exceptional vending box, appearing almost exactly as it would have over 50 years ago.
