Outstanding mid- to high-grade complete set of 1971-1972 Topps basketball cards, consisting of 233 different cards. The 1971-1972 Topps set is very popular among collectors for its bright colors and funky text, both telltale signs of an early 1970s issue. The set is loaded with stars and Hall of Famers, including Pete Maravich, Oscar Robertson, and rookie cards of Rick Barry, Dave Cowens, Bob Lanier, Larry Brown, Nate Archibald, and Dan Issel. This was also the first year that Topps included cards of ABA (American Basketball Association) players. Condition is 29% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 41% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 30% Vg to Vg-Ex (including a few lesser). Keys: #1 Robertson (Ex due to centering), 2 Bradley (Vg-Ex+), 10 Baylor (Ex-Mt), 20 Haywood RC (Ex), 29 Archibald RC (Vg-Ex+), 35 Havlicek (Vg-Ex+), 47 Cowens RC (Vg+), 50 West (Vg-Ex), 55 Maravich (20/80 T/B, otherwise Nr/Mt), 63 Lanier RC (Ex+), 65 Frazier (85/15 T/B and 99/1 centering on reverse, otherwise Ex-Mt), 70 Chamberlain (Ex-Mt), 91 Tomjanovich RC (Ex-Mt+), 100 Alcindor (Ex), 120 Hayes (Nr/Mt), 138 NBA Scoring Ldrs (Ex-Mt), 152 L. Brown RC (Ex-Mt), 170 Barry RC (Vg-Ex due mostly to light stain), 195 Daniels RC (Ex-Mt), 200 Issel RC (Ex+), 224 Dampier RC (Ex-Mt), and 225 R. Brown RC (Gd due to paper loss). An extremely attractive mid- to high-grade complete set of this popular 1970s Topps basketball issue, loaded with stars and Hall of Famers. Total: 233 cards.
