Lot # 2786: 1880s Duke and Kinney Bros. Nonsport Tobacco-Card Collection (229)

Collection of 229 nonsport tobacco-cards produced by Duke and Kinney circa 1888. A total of eleven different sets are represented by this collection, largely made up (160/229) of N71 "Actors and Actresses," N225 "National Dances," N73 "Fancy Dress Ball Costumes," and N91 "Yacht Colors of the World." Included in this group is a very rare variation of N73 Duke's Mixture "Fancy Dress Ball Costumes" Madge Bannister - The Fisher Maiden (Poor condition). Slightly larger than Duke's standard N73s (1-3/4 x 3-1/8 inches), only four from this issue on the PSA population report and none listed on SGC. Condition is 22% range from Gd to Ex and 78% grade Pr to Fr (many due primarily to marks or evidence of album removal on the reverse and including eight trimmed, six cutouts from premium albums, and a couple skinned). This is a very presentable collection of cards from these popular sets. Total: 229 cards.
