Graded POOR 1 by SGC. This is the ONLY example that has ever been graded by SGC (or PSA)! Exceedingly rare Newsboy cabinet card, No. 330, featuring legendary nineteenth-century actor Edwin Booth. Booth's success is often overshadowed by his infamous younger brother, John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln. Newsboy cabinet cards were issued by the National Tobacco Works of New York City to promote their Newsboy Tobacco brand. The set of Newsboy Cabinets numbers over 500 cards, which includes athletes from various sports, including baseball, actresses, celebrities, and politicians. Despite the number of individuals featured on Newsboy Cabinets, examples are scarce. The formal studio photograph pictures the actor seated in a chair. The card (4.25 x 6.5 inches) has moderate creasing and three pinholes.
