Lot # 1290: 1958 Topps #433 Pancho Herrera PSA EX+ 5.5 - Rare Error Card

Graded EX+ 5.5 by PSA (submitted by REA). Outstanding example of this rare error card featuring Philadelphia Phillies infielder Pancho Herrera from the 1958 Topps set. Herrera is an extremely important card in this issue. Because of a printing error, this card is known to exist with and without the "a" in "Herrera." The extremely rare without the "a" printing error card has long been recognized as one of the rarest of all Topps error cards and is listed in price guides as the most valuable card in the 1958 Topps set. Herrera without the "a" error cards are naturally rare in any grade, but due to the poor printing quality of 1958 Topps cards, it is all the more difficult to find in high grade. This card has a striking blue background, a crisp image, and strong corners with light touches of wear. The reverse is clean and boldly printed. This true postwar rarity is worthy of the finest 1958 Topps master set or error-card collection.
