Description

Catalogued T1 by Jefferson Burdick in the American Card Catalog, this striking premium set issued in 1900 includes twenty-five colorful lithographed cards (8.25 x 6.25 inches) featuring various then renowned actresses dressed in theater costumes, highlighted by such stars as Ethel Barrymore and Lillian Russell. Each card in this set could be obtained only by redeeming the coupons, which were included in packages of Turkish Trophies cigarettes. Condition is two Vg-Ex, four Vg, four Gd, thirteen Pr to Fr (including some due mostly to pinholes), and two altered (Olive May and Lillian Russell). Bright, clean, and visually impressive, this very scarce issue is rarely offered as a complete set. Total: 25 cards.
