Lot # 2934: Circa 1890s Ed Spurney Cabinet SGC POOR 10

Vintage baseball cabinet photo dating from circa 1890. The formal studio photograph pictures shortstop Ed Spurney in full uniform as he poses with his arms folded. Spurney only played in three Major League games as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1891. The cabinet (4.25 x 6.5 inches) displays chipping along the bottom edge of the photo and small spots of edge wear along the top of the mount. The reverse has pencil notations identifying Spurney, along with a small newspaper clipping affixed to the lower-left quadrant. Graded POOR 10 by SGC.
