Lot # 374: 1909-1911 T206 White Border Bill O'Hara St. Louis Variation SGC FAIR 20 - Polar Bear Back

Graded FAIR 20 by SGC. Modestly graded example of the rare Bill O'Hara card, St. Louis Browns T206 variation. Polar Bear was the only company to issue this variation, thus contributing to its significant rarity. T206 cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were not well protected from the accompanying product, so almost all O'Haras have significant condition problems, including at least some tobacco staining (including this example). This well-centered card exhibits brilliant colors, outstanding registration, and moderate corner wear. The Polar Bear reverse is boldly printed. Scattered creasing contributes to the assigned grade. This is a pleasing low-grade example of one of the rarest and most condition-sensitive cards in the classic T206 White Border set.
