Graded GOOD 2 by SGC. Extremely scarce card of Hall of Famer Zach Wheat (Brooklyn Robins) from the 1922 Haffner’s Bread set. Haffner's Bread cards share the same fronts with W575-1 strip cards, which are blank-backed. Several bakeries used W575-1s as promotional vehicles, including Gassler, Clark, and Haffner, each of which is particularly rare. The W575-1 set is very similar in nature to the American Caramel Company E121 issue as both sets feature the same design and likenesses for many of the players included. This is a remarkable sample, only the fifth of its kind that we can recall ever offering. The card displays a strong image and even wear to the corners. The Haffner’s Bread advertising reverse is boldly printed, which is the ideal for a rare advertising back. A rarely seen Haffner’s Bread example that would be an outstanding addition to any Hall of Fame-card or Brooklyn Robins (Dodgers) collection.
