Description

Presented is a partial set of 1960 Bazooka consisting of twenty-three different cards, out of thirty-six in the set, plus five duplicates. Missing the following thirteen cards for completion: #1 Banks, 7 Clemente, 8 Berra, 11, 13 Mays, 16, 20 Killebrew, 23, 24, 30, 31 Mantle, 32, and 36. 1960 was the second year of Bazooka baseball cards, and the first set to be issued in the three-card panel format (this near set consists of individually cut cards). Hall of Famers in this near-set include Aaron, Kaline, Spahn, Frank Robinson, Roberts, Wynn, Cepeda, Aparicio, and Fox. Duplicates (5): #5, 14, 26 Roberts, 28 Wynn, and 34. The following grades are without respect to the neatness of the cut on the box cards as professional grading companies require that all of the borders be present in order for a card to receive a numerical grade, and many of these cards would qualify only for "Authentic" because they are cut inside of, or too close to, the borders. Condition is 46% Ex to Ex-Mt (including 18% Nr/Mt), 43% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 11% Gd (including one lesser). Keys: #4 Aaron (Pr, paper loss on reverse), 18 Kaline (Vg+), 19 Spahn (Vg+), and 29 F. Robinson (Nr/Mt). This is a very attractive partial set of these unusual, scarce, and underrated Bazooka Bubble Gum package-design cards. Total: 28 cards.
