Collection of 11 letters, each signed by a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. 1) Walt Alston. One-page handwritten letter, dated May 2, 1967, on hotel stationary, signed in blue ink by "Walt Alston." Alston responds to a gentleman regarding the purchase of his new skeet gun. 7-1/4 x 10-1/2 inches. Gd, with a few puncture holes at the top and normal mailing folds. 2) Frank Baker. One-page typed letter, dated September 8, 1956, on a plain sheet, signed in blue ink by "Frank Baker." Baker writes to former president of the Baseball Hall of Fame Paul Kerr about his recent visit to Cooperstown. 7-1/4 x 10-3/8 inches. Ex, with normal mailing folds. 3) Jocko Conlan. One-page typed contract, dated August 25, 1934, on "Draper-Maynard Co." letterhead, signed in black ink by "Jocko Conlan." This agreement, between Conlan and the Draper-Maynard company, states that Conlan's name will be used to endorse their baseball sporting goods. 8-1/2 x 11 inches. Ex, with two punch holes at the top, a small chip missing on the left edge, and normal mailing folds. 4) Joe Cronin. One-page typed waiver, dated February 1, 1956, on a plain sheet, signed in black ink by "Joseph E. Cronin." The signed waiver is regarding a Louisville Baseball Club stockholders meeting. 8-1/2 x 11 inches. Ex, with three punch holes along the left edge and a paperclip mark at the top. 5) Ford Frick. One-page typed letter, dated April 28, 1942, on National League letterhead, signed in black ink by "Ford Frick." Frick writes to former president of the Pennsylvania State Association E. M. Daily thanking him for the season passes. 8.5 x 11 inches. Ex, with normal mailing folds. 6) Clark Griffith. One-page typed letter, dated July 29, 1938, on Washington American League Baseball Club letterhead, signed in black ink by "Clark Griffith." Griffith writes to former owner of the Detroit Tigers Walter Briggs asking him to vote against contract changes at the winter meeting. 8.5 x 11 inches. Ex, with three staple holes at the top and normal mailing folds. 7) Mickey Mantle. One-page typed introductory fan-club letter, on personal stationary, signed in blue ink by "Mickey Mantle." 8.5 x 11 inches. Ex, with normal mailing folds. 8) Rube Marquard. One-page handwritten letter, dated July 17, 1961, on personal stationary, signed in black ink by "Rube Marquard." Marquard responds to former Yankees representative Bob Fishel regarding attending an Old Timers' Day event. 7-1/4 x 10-3/4 inches. Ex, with a couple staple holes at the top and normal mailing folds. 9) Johnny Mize. One-page typed letter, dated August 24, 1967, on personal stationary, signed in blue ink by "Johnny Mize."
