Lot # 2162: 1958 Jackie Robinson Signed Check with Rachel Robinson Letter PSA/DNA MINT 9

Bank check dated December 23, 1958, and signed by Jackie Robinson, accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from Rachel Robinson (Jackie Robinson's wife). PSA/DNA has encapsulated the check and graded the signature MINT 9. The check, drawn on the Chemical Corn Exchange Bank of New York, is made out to "Charlotte Cunningham" in the amount of $50.00. Signed "Jack R. Robinson" in blue ink along the base. The names of both Jackie Robinson and Rachel Robinson are preprinted in the upper-left corner. The check (6 x 2.75 inches), which has normal bank cancellation stamps, displays a few light creases and the upper-right corner folded over. In Very Good to Excellent condition. As noted, a one-page signed letter of provenance from Rachel Robinson accompanies the check (this is one of a number of checks that was released into the hobby by the Robinson family in the early 1990s).
