Presented is an extremely rare 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers pennant, signed in blue ink by 20 members of the team and Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Fame manager Connie Mack. The advertising pennant, urging Americans to support the war effort by buying United States Defense Bonds, reads "Brooklyn Dodgers/National League Champions/1953" in red lettering on a off-white background. The advertisement along the base of the pennant reads, "Buy United States Defense Bonds, The Champs Do, Why Don't You." The signees are as follows: Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Bob Morgan, Carl Furillo, Billy Loes, Preacher Roe, Jim Gilliam, Wayne Belardi, Joe Black, Cookie Lavagetto, Erv Palica, Clem Labine, Carl Erskine, Bill Antonello, George Shuba, Billy Cox, and Chuck Dressen. The pennant (12 inches in length) displays light toning and a few fold lines. In apparent Excellent condition overall. The pennant has been mounted and framed to total dimensions of 16.5 x 12 inches.
