Presented is an extremely attractive high-grade complete set of 1969-1970 Topps basketball, highlighted by numerous stars and key rookie cards, including Hall of Famers John Havlicek and Lew Alcindor. This 99-card set represents Topps' first large-scale basketball effort in over a decade (since its first issue in 1957) and is extremely popular with collectors due to its size, design, and star selection. Condition is 30% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (mostly Nr/Mt), 55% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 15% lesser (including a few that measure a bit small). Four cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (submitted by REA). Four additional cards were deemed by PSA to not meet their minimum size requirement. These four cards are approximately 1/32-inch narrow and show no signs of trimming. Keys: #1 Chamberlain (PSA deemed Min. Size, otherwise Ex+), 2 Goodrich RC (Vg-Ex+), 10 Thurmond RC (Ex+), 15 Hawkins RC (Nr/Mt), 20 Havlicek RC (Ex+), 25 Alcindor RC (EX-MT 6), 35 Baylor (Nr/Mt-Mt), 40 Cunningham RC (Ex-Mt+ due to centering), 43 Bradley RC (Nr/Mt), 44 Wilkens (Nr/Mt), 45 Lucas RC (Nr/Mt), 50 Robertson (PSA deemed Min. Size, otherwise Ex-Mt), 55 Bing RC (Vg-Ex), 56 Unseld RC (Nr/Mt-Mt), 60 Reed RC (PSA deemed Min. Size, otherwise Ex+), 75 Hayes RC (PSA deemed Min. Size, otherwise Nr/Mt-Mt), 80 Monroe RC (Ex-Mt+), 85 DeBusschere RC (Ex), 90 West (VG-EX 4), 98 Frazier RC (EX-MT 6), and 99 Checklist (VG 3). This is a very attractive, crisp, and clean complete set of this significant and popular early Topps basketball issue. Total: 99 cards.
